Accessories and add on
items
We do not recommend buying accessories
items such as humidifiers, thermostats and media filters from the same
manufacturer as the furnace. Accessories items made by the
manufacturer say; , Trane, Armstrong is much harder to get
simple replacement items.
Example: Down the road you may need a
humidifier replacement pad for your Trane humidifier system.
- The Humidifier replacement pad from Trane is going to be almost
impossible to get other than to order it from a local dealer
- A manufactures replacement pad is almost double the cost of a
normal replacement pad
- You cannot get the replacement pad at your local hardware store
and so on.....
All accessories items should be purchased locally
from your installing contractor:

Humidifiers Thermostats and
Media Air Filters
HUMIDIFIER SYSTEMS -
flow through self cleaning only
- APRIL AIRE or GENERAL
FILTERS - the two most popular sold - easy to find replacement pads
THERMOSTATS digital
and non-digital
- HONEYWELL or WHITE
ROGERS - any others are trash and are not well tested
MEDIA FILTERS
20x25x5" for 80,000 btu and higher or 1100 cfm and higher or 3 tons and
up
- HONEYWELL - the most
popular replacement available in the USA - stay away from Space-Gard and
Air-Bear
While Trane and may make a great
furnace, they do not specialize in add on items like say; Honeywell.

Ordering a Heating Cooling
Package is Simple
- Choose any one of our hand
picked packages listed, email your choice package system back to
us, if your prefer, we will
hand deliver your package right to the project. NOT BY OUTSIDE SHIPPERS
but rather OUR OWN.
All packages listed have been carefully
chosen for size, compatibility and installation. The furnace matches
the air conditioning coil, the coil matches the condenser, the furnace
matches the fan blower and the entire system matches down to the square
footage of your project. This way everything is compatible, no
miss-matches.
We highly recommend "border- line"
installations to always should exceed the requirements, that way none of
the equipment is taxed to it's capacity, it just sings along nicely.
What if
your installation is
"border-line". An 80,000 btu furnace covering 1900+ square foot area:
Example: An 80,000 BTU furnace
outputs only 74,000 BTU's, while the 100,000 BTU furnace yields 93,000
BTU's - 1900 sq foot requires at least 79,000 BTU's
Say that you have:
- Bonus room above the attached garage ---
Future Expansion
Two stories home constructed after 1986
#1 or 2 region
Many glass windows and/or doorwalls
means more heat loss
If you choose a heating system to
small, you may not be happy if:
- You had to pull the furnace just to heat
the bonus room
- Installed an additional a space heater
for the bonus room
- You couldn't get high volume air the
second story rooms for cooling and heating
- Iced window glass from low air delivery
The difference between the 80,000
btu furnace and the 100,000 btu furnace is:
- You get a larger, higher volume blower
motor and wheel and case
- Faster heating recovery below 29 degrees
outdoor
- Less run time through the many years of
operation
- Greater cooling capacity and higher
de-humidification overall
The cost difference is very minimal less
than a hundred dollars.
Two stage burners or not - what to
do
- Two stage burners require more
maintenance and cleanings
- Uses more electricity since the fan runs
longer - almost all day
- Places more run time on all
internal furnace components
- Is in fact higher to service and repair
- Unable to install compatible
circuit boards and parts - in a no heat situation, what are you
going to do?
- Is not recommended in the #1, 2 region
of the United States - 3,4, and 5 yes maybe.
- A BTU (British thermal unit) is a BTU -
meaning, low burner is less heat than high burner
The faster the heat comes out, the quicker
you are satisfied, less electricity cost, wear and tear to the furnace
and maintenance, and did we mention the cost to fix it.
